Is it xmas yet?

Check it out! I got a flat panel monitor for my desk. Isn't it beautiful? Everyone in the office would like one of these, but that's the beauty of being in the IT department isn't it? :-) We've got another 10 or so to hand out, but who should get them? There's only one way to settle this (see link).

My job's going from part time (2 days a week) to full time, yay! This means I will have more money for buying toys and visiting foreign parts in 2006! Shopping list: new computer, broadband, sound system, furniture, clothes, expensive shoes, trips to Spain, gym membership (yes gym membership!) and maybe a trip to Texas to visit my good friend Ben who's out there doing his PhD.

Anyway I should get on with some work if I want to keep this wonderful job. Unfortunately I have been hypnotized by this evil kitten.

LOL LOL LOL @ Adam :-)

Listen, Jim, I am really glad to hear your good news :-D
Congratz and....good luck with the gym project [!!]. Personally, I am not ambitious enough for such memberships!

Before your workload increases, be sure to check out the link I posted
in the Comment-box for your superhero adventures in Shoreham. It is SO funny like!!

Gotta get on with the story here --> coffee and then back to work [currently translating a periodical about children with autism].

[Btw, I like the fact that you've photographed your monitor while visiting your blog and then posted the photo on that very blog. Nice effect]

Ads, Genome's a cool book. Lots of info on genetics and an entertaining read. I'm re-reading it because with Ben in town over Xmas I'll probably have to talk about genetics sooner or later :-)

Yes Lilly thanks for the link! These are the sort of kids we have to put up with, or should I say deal with.

When do you have to start working more days, James?

Yes -- those kids....I used to see tons of them in Glasgow when I worked there, and certainly also in Stirling. Particularly inside the big shopping centre there....NEDS they're called in Scotland. But that doesn't make them any more appealing if you ask me.

I've just been informed that I start full time immediately after xmas! Fantastic.

In other words: enjoy your freedom while it lasts!! :-D

HELLO JAMES -- ARE YOU AT WORK WORKING HARD NOW?

First day back at work today. I've almost forgotten how!

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon enough! :-) Don't forget to take a coffee break now and again. That's an important part of being at work.

ARE YOU STILL SMOKING?

[I am not trying to sound like your mother or anything -- I could just do with a fag myself at present....[dammit!]]

Noooooooooooooo!! (my Darth Vader impression)

Certainly not! I've given up again since New Year's Day. Not counting a couple of cigs I had last week when I was tipsy :-/

Cool! Well done, James -- archk, the odd one now and again, who gives a shit? ;-)

PS. That's a damn good Darth Vader impression like!
